Overwatch 2 Reveals New Tank - Ramattra
A new hero that will appear in Overwatch 2 was unveiled today, and it is a tank named Ramattra.
Overwatch 2 certainly does not suffer from limited character roster, despite the fact that so far the second part of Blizzard's shooter has only added three new characters: Sojourn, Junker Queen and Kiriko. However, tonight, during the grand finals of the Overwatch League e-sports competition, a new tank was announced, who will join their ranks. Check out the video showing the story of Ramattra:
Ramattra will hit Overwatch 2 at the beginning of season two, which is scheduled to begin on December 6. He is the leader of one of the three main organizations operating in the game world, specifically Sector Zero. As described by the developers:
"Originally a war machine, Ramattra shed his munitions for a shield to protect his people by promoting peace and tranquility. His ideals weren’t far removed from his fellow Shambli monk, Zenyatta. However, Ramattra’s story is one of hardships, trauma, and a magnified view of humanity’s harsh realities."
Chief character designer Alec Dawson revealed a little more about Ramattra in an interview with the media. For example, we know that the new hero will have two forms, Omnic and Nemesis. The first will enable the player to protect the rest of his team. In the second, on the other hand, Ramattra will be able to charge at enemies and bask them in a hail of blows. The character will thus be able to defend allies in both forms. His ultimate skill is supposed to be somehow related to Zenyatta and, as both characters are Omnics with similar origins, it is possible that there will be some interaction between them on the battlefield (via GamesRadar ).
Overwatch 2 is available to download for free at Battle.net and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles.
