List of Known Outriders Issues and Possible Solutions

Outriders' publisher presented a list of known bugs and inconveniences affecting gameplay. A list of some potential solutions to the most persistent problems has be put together on Reddit.

Square Enix, the publisher of Outriders, which launched on Thursday, published a list of confirmed bugs in the game. In the list you can find the most important issues that hinder gameplay. The list is constantly updated and the devs try to supplement it with the best possible temporary solutions.

Cross-play between PC and consoles

The most important issue for the devs at the moment is the non-functioning cross-play between PCs and consoles. It turned out that due to desynchronization in the code, the players were kicked from the lobby if it consisted of owners of different platforms. Currently, Steam users can only play with those who bought the game on Epic Games Store, and PlayStation 4 or PS5 owners with users who play on Xbox consoles. Upcoming patches are expected to fix this bug.

Endless logging in

The players can expect trouble before they even reach the battleground. On all platforms, Outriders can crash at the login screen. On Sony and Microsoft consoles, clearing the cache temporarily helps. To do this, turn off the hardware (sleep mode will be insufficient), disconnect it from the power for a few minutes, and then reconnect and start the game.

Problems with DirectX 12

Devs are also familiar with the case as a result of which the loading of the title stops at 80 percent. A potential solution is to restart the game and select the campaign's start point in the main menu, but many Reddit users report that the solution is not 100 percent effective. Additionally, on PC, the game can shut down on its own without any error message. According to the developers, this is due to problems with the implementation of DirectX 12, so the solution is to force the application to run using the previous version of DirectX. Crashing side quests

The players also complain about crashes in side quests. In a quest called Bad Day, the game might crash while you are collecting rewards for completing the quest. However, this will only happen when the protagonist has any legendary item in the inventory. The devs advise to put all such items in the stash while completing the task. In turn, in the mission Onslaught a critical error may occur at some point. In this case, just change the language to any other.

Disappearing equipment and interface

The last serious bug, which can happen to everyone playing Outriders, is a rare case of disappearing equipment. At the moment, there is no effective solution for the issues, but the developers have promised that everyone affected will receive adequate compensation and assistance. Not only player items can vanish into thin air, but also the interface elements. However, in this case a restart will suffice. Among minor bugs, it is worth mentioning blurred visuals, story items that can fall through the map, and problems with playing on a controller in the PC version.

Outriders released on April 1, 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Despite problems with server stability, the game recorded a successful launch. The developers admitted that they are interested in further development of their title, and its success was surprising to them.
