Official Presentation of Valve Index
Today, Valve announced Valve Index, the company's VR goggles. During the presentation, the price and detailed specification of the device were revealed. The equipment is to be delivered to the first customers on June 28 this year.
Valve decided to enter the VR google market. Today, Gabe Newell's company presented its original design in this segment - Valve Index. It is intended for advanced users of this technology. It also aims to facilitate the creation of new productions dedicated to virtual reality. The first copies are to be sold in June this year.
Valve Index - Technical Specification
Valve Index claims to be the most modern VR goggles in the world, featuring all the modern technological solutions. The emphasis is on the quality of the elements. Below is a list of the most important parameters:

The list shows a few upgrades. The angle of view in Valve Index is approximately 20° greater than in HTC Vive. SteamVR 2.0 sensors are designed to provide greater range and improve hardware sensitivity.
Hardware compatibility has also been ensured. Goggles will work with HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality components. Due to the SteamVR Tracking 2.0 technology, base stations will only work with Valve Index and HTC Vive Pro.

Valve Index - price and release date
A complete Valve Index VR Kit, which includes goggles, two controllers and two base stations, you will cost us $999. In case of purchase of VR headset only, the price will amount to $499. All available options can be found on Steam. Given the competition, the price does not seem excessive. The HTC VIVE Pro Full Kit is currently priced at $1,099.
Initially, Valve Index will only appear in the USA and Europe. Pre-sale is to start in May, and the first copies are to be delivered to customers on June 28 this year.
