Obduction release date announced
Cyan has announced the release date for Obduction, an adventure game and a spiritual successor to the cult Myst.
Cyan, Inc. – the studio behind the legendary Myst and Riven: The Sequel to Myst – has announced the launch date for Obduction, its latest adventure game and a spiritual successor to the 1995 classic. Their newest game, powered by Unreal Engine 4, will be available for download from Steam, GOG.com, Humble Store, Mac App Store, and the Oculus Store on July 26, 2016, for $29.99. Obduction is heading to PC, Mac, and Oculus Rift. You can watch its teaser trailer above.
The first playable VR demo of Obduction is going to be presented at UploadVR Party at E3 2016. Also during the E3, we will also be able to see some new worlds in motion: Kaptar and Hunrath. In their press release (via PRWeb), the developers describe them as follows:
Kaptar […] features soaring cliffs with precarious pathways that lead to ancient architecture, gargantuan machinery, and curious lifeforms. […] Hunrath [is] a bizarre scoop of Earth that includes red rock canyons and a midwestern farmhouse complete with white picket fence - nestled eerily in an alien landscape.
