Nvidia Introduces Surprize Price Hike for RTX 3000 GPUs
Nvidia has decided to raise the prices of RTX 3000 GPUs, including Founders editions. The company provided no explanation for the price changes.
The situation in the market of PC components continues to be dire due to problems with availability and the unrelenting interest in cryptocurrency mining. Graphics cards are sold much more expensive than the MSRP. We do not know when the situation will stabilize and everything will return to normal. Nvidia has decided to take matters into its own hands and... increased the suggested prices of the Founders RTX 3000 series cards.
The information comes from hardwareLUXX, which noticed the price increase on Nvidia's German website. The increases apply to Founders cards of the RTX 3000 series. They are different for each of them - the biggest change is seen with the flagship RTX 3090 chip, where the price is higher by 100 euros (increase from 1549 euros to 1649 euros). As for the RTX 3080 model, the increase was slightly smaller, 70 euros. The downward trend continues for the cheaper cards.
Nvidia doesn't provide any reasons for its decision, though rising inflation may be a likely justification.
Old price | New price | Difference | |
RTX 3090 | 1549 euros | 1649 euros | 100 Euro ( 6.4%) |
RTX 3080 Ti | 1199 euro | 1269 euros | 70 euros ( 5.8%) |
RTX 3080 | 719 euros | 759 euros | 40 euros ( 5.6%) |
RTX 3070 Ti | 619 euros | 649 euros | 30 euros ( 4.8%) |
RTX 3070 | 519 euros | 549 euros | 30 euros ( 5.8%) |
RTX 3060 Ti | 419 euros | 439 euros | 20 Euro ( 4.7%) |
These changes are rather insignificant, since it is virtually impossible to get a brand new Founders edition card. What's more, the market prices are still almost twice as high as suggested - even before this increase.
