Nvidia Extends Partnership with EA. Battlefield 4 and Battlefield V on Geforce NOW
At CES, GeForce reps revealed the plan of extending their partnership with Electronic Arts. In celebration of this event, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield V have become available on the GeForce NOW.
In the future we can expect more games from EA. Moreover, NVIDIA is working on improving network connectivity and increasing the number of devices compatible with the cloud service. At CES, the company announced that GeForce NOW will be integrated into Samsung Smart TVs. This is expected to happen later in the first half of this year. Last month the beta of GeForce NOW became available for LG 2021 WebOS Smart TV devices.
Back to the gamesBF4 and BFV have joined the already strong group of online shooters available on the platform. In a week, another title from this genre will be added to the library, namely Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction. Below are brief descriptions of both of this week's new releases, as well as two great online shooters that have been available on GeForce NOW for some time now. We think Insurgency and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege deserve to be mentioned.
Battlefield 4
After the well-received part three, in 2013 players got the next installment in the series of online shooters from EA Dice. Despite the initial technical problems, part four should be treated as a successful game, which is still played today. Now also vis GeForce NOW. The cloud platform includes the Premium edition of the game (Steam and Origin).
Once again, the game is set in modern times. This time the People's Republic of China, where most of the single player campaign takes place. BF4 is, however, first and foremost a multiplayer game with enormous maps enabling a large number of players to fight simultaneously using all sorts of vehicles, not just land vehicles. As for the multiplayer, after the absence of commander mode in BF3 it now makes it return. The commander plans the actions of the squad and allocates resources. What's interesting, he can do this from a mobile device and we don't mean a laptop, but a tablet.
As usual, players can choose from different factions and character classes. The choice of the latter should be well thought out. Each specialization offers access to new "toys". For example, the equipment of an engineer allows you to effectively neutralize enemy vehicles. However, this does not mean that no one else can do it. In this part, classes are much more flexible. There are wide possibilities to adapt them to one's own preferences. The mentioned engineer can also be a dread to infantry soldiers.
Battlefield V
Part five launched more than five years after the part four. In the meantime, however, there were other Battlefield games, namely Hardline and Battlefield 1, which took players to the times of the Great War. The action of BFV is set during World War II. In addition to the online mode there is also a single player campaign, and a battle royale mode. Still, we will focus only on the first.
The multiplayer mode offers many different variations. The most spectacular are undoubtedly the Operations. Multistage clashes require completing various objectives on several maps. Thanks to this, the player has the feeling that he actually participates in something big.. Those who are used to the Battlefield games may be surprised to learn that this time they will also be erecting structures, includig fortifications. All this has been enriched with beautiful visuals. Nonetheless, you'll need a pretty solid PC to run the game smoothly. All the better that the game in now available in the GeForce NOW library. Battlefield V is available there in the Definitive version. All those who bought it on Steam or Origin can play it.
Insurgency
Probably not many people have heard about this game, which is a great loss. Insurgency received high scores from reviewers and was very warmly welcomed by the players themselves. However, it is not a game for everyone. The "rush B" strategy doesn't work here. The gameplay requires composure, good planning, and close cooperation.
The developers from New World Interactive have put emphasis on realism.. One bullet, and not necessarily in the head, is able to eliminate the opponent but also the player. Respawns takes much longer here than in games like Call of Duty. In comparison to the popular CoD weapons in Insurgency also have more recoil. Not only that, even when not shooting, the croshairs "float" a bit. Hip shots are less accurate, and you can pretty much forget about using the "no scope" technique.
Apart from the Steam version of Insurgency GeForce NOW library also includesInsurgency: Sandstorm. Just like in the first part, there's room for both cooperative missions and a traditional multiplayer mode with multiple gameplay options. Sandstorm features much better visuals than the original. The newer game uses Unreal Engine 4.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege
Rainbow Six: Siege managed to combine two seemingly mutually exclusive elements. These are tactical approach and dynamic action. The gameplay here takes place on rather small maps, where one team of several players has the task of leading the assault on the location, in which the second team has to barricade themselves as well as possible and repel the attack.
Everything starts from the preparation stage. Defenders set up defenses and build shields, while attackers determine the position of opponents and look for weak points. Then dynamic gameplay provides a lot of emotional moments. Among the more interesting mechanics we should mention destruction of the environment, especially walls and floors. Opponents located on the first floor of the building can literally fall on your head from the second floor. Operators are also a strong point of the production. Each of them has a different range of capabilities, weapons, and skills. This resembles unique character classes.
GeForce NOW includes three versions: Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games, and Steam.
