Not Just Windows 7 - Microsoft Ends Support for Office 2010
Each Microsoft product has a specific support cycle during which the company implements new features, fixes errors, and ensures user safety. For Office 2010 this support will end on October 13, 2020.
Microsoft will soon end its support for two popular products in its offer, namely Windows 7 and Office 2010, both of which are considered by users to be iconic and widely used around the world.
What does the end of support really mean and when will it come?
If you have Microsoft Office 2010 on your computer after the specified date, it will no longer receive any updates. You will of course still be able to use the programs, but you will do so at your own risk. Because as with Windows 7, as we wrote yesterday, users of older versions are more vulnerable to computer viruses and malware, without security updates it can be dangerous for your data. Microsoft's support is to end on October 13, 2020.
The end of the Office 2010 era does not mean, of course, that we have no substitute for it. Microsoft continues to support the Office editions from 2013 and 2016. The company from Redmond still has Office 365 in official distribution, where all our data is stored in a 1TB cloud, and the package itself enables the use of the software on multiple devices. Unfortunately, the disadvantage of this solution is requirement of a yearly subscription.
The alternative to this solution seems to be Office 2019. It was released in 2018 and should be supported for many years to come. This software is limited to only one computer or laptop. In addition, Windows 10 and above is required to use it, as it does not support older versions of the operating system. The fee for this package is one-off.
