„No One Wanted to Talk to Me.” Dakota Johnson's Dream Role in The Office Turned Into a Nightmare
Dakota Johnson has bad memories of her time on the set of The Office. She had previously dreamed of starring in the TV series.
America's The Office was a huge hit. Not surprisingly, many actors wanted to star in this comedy series. And one such person was Dakota Johnson, who succeeded in fulfilling her dream, as she got a role in the finale of the production, however, the situation didn’t turn out as she had imagined, which made her recall the situation on the set and the results of her work badly.
On the Late Night with Seth Meyers program, the actress talked about her experience on The Office. She described working on the production as “the worst time of her life.”
That was honestly the worst time of my life. I love that show so much, and they were like, “Do you want to be in the series finale?” and I was like, “Of course,” thinking that I’d show up for, like, half a day. I was there for two weeks, and I’m barely in the f**king show.
Johnson confessed that the atmosphere on the set was strange, as there were tensions between the actors and many people didn’t talk to each other. She herself, as she suggested, was ignored there, which strongly affected her enthusiasm with which she came to the set. The project she joined with excitement eventually became her nightmare.
They were sad and also, like, there were weird dynamics that had been going on for the last 10 years. Some people didn’t speak to each other. And I’m coming in like, ”So excited to be here!” No one wanted to talk to me. No one gave a f**k. I was like, in the background of all of these scenes, faxing things.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, the actress talked about how her appearance in the TV series was supposed to tease a potential spin-off of The Office, but plans fell through. Her statement, however, shows that she has no regrets that the project didn't work out.
And if you don't remember, Johnson appeared in a last episode of The Office as the accountant who Dwight appointed to succeed the fired Kevin.
