The developers of No Man's Sky didn't make us wait long for the next batch of updates. Just over a month after the Omega update, Hello Games studio released patch 4.6 titled Orbital. The new update is now ready to be downloaded and brings a lot of new features, some of which you can see in the preview below.

New space stations and ship editor

This update primarily focused on overhauling space stations, with the most attention from Hello Games studio. So far, these were the only game elements that weren't generated procedurally. Now this has been changed, and the developers assure that as a result, the visited stations will be incredibly diverse and tailored to the system, race, and location, both externally and internally. Furthermore, their size was significantly increased and enriched with new stores and activities.

The starship editor is another highly anticipated feature that comes with the refreshed stations. It enables the customization of ships to suit individual preferences and the creation of unique combinations that are unparalleled.

However, as befits a game focused on exploration, in order to exchange parts of your ship, you first need to find and recover them from the wrecks discovered during your travels.

No Man's Sky: Orbital - other features

The Orbital update also introduces other new features, such as:

  1. rescue missions in which we help the frigates sent by us, if they get into trouble during our absence;
  2. guild envoy, whom we can find at stations - we can increase our reputation with his help (by giving donations) and receive rare items;
  3. refreshed user interface;
  4. game engine improvement.

There are also error fixes - you can find the full list and a detailed description of the changes here.
