Nintendo Switch Has More than 1800 Games
Perfectly Nintendo website, known for gathering various "N-related" stats, reports that currently there are more than 1800 titles that we can play on Nintendo Switch.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- 1868 games were released on Nintendo Switch ;
- 1702 games appeared in the USA, 1689 in Europe and 1043 in Japan;
- 182 productions have already debuted on Switch this year;
- The most active publisher is Hamster.
Perfectly Nintendo website closely follows the games released on the Nintendo Switch hybrid console. It turns out that on the latest hardware from the great "N" can boast a game lirary of 1868 titles. Interestingly, 182 of them have been released this year (a solid start, considering that in 2018 there were 1298 titles released in total).
The most active publisher is Hamster, which has already published 137 titles on Switch. "Hamster" mainly creates ports of titles from the Neo-Geo platform. On the next places we will find Nintendo (63 productions), Plug in Digital (30 games), Forever Entertainment (29 items) and Digerati (27 titles).
The largest number of games - 1702 - was released in the United States. European players have access to 1689 productions and the catalogue of titles published in Japan has 1043 items.
It is worth remembering that on March 3 Nintendo Switch will celebrate its second birthday. The stats debunk the myth, which we are hearing from time to time, that the platform offers little or no games. On the other hand, the multitude of titles does not necessarily translate into high quality. Many console users complain about the fact that the Nintendo eShop digital distribution platform has the same problem that Steam has been struggling with for years - it drowns in a deluge of garbage production.
Thanks to the information published by Nintendo itself, we know that the list of the most popular games on Switch includes such titles as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (15.02 million copies sold), Super Mario Odyssey (13.76 million), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (12.08 million), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (11.68 million) and Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu! / Pokemon Let's Go Evee! (round 10 million).
