Ninja Gaiden Series Finally Coming to PC
Team Ninja announced Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, a set containing three installments of the classic action game series. This will be the debut of the main franchise on PC.
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma (originally released in 2007)
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (2009)
- Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge (2012)
Yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation was full of announcements of new projects. One of the most interesting was the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, a set containing three classic action games by Team Ninja, known for Dead or Alive and NiOh.
The collection is coming not only to Nintendo Switch, but also PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The latter edition will be sold on Steam. The release will take place on June 10, this year.
The collection will include three games - Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. The set should prove to be a treat especially for PC gamers. The only PC release on this franchise was the moderately successful spin-off game Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, developed by another studio. The Master Collection will therefore be the debut of the main Ninja Gaiden series onPC.
Each game included in the collection will include most of the DLCs and additional costumes that were released for the originals. It's worth mentioning that Sigma and Razor's Edge editions were already expanded compared to the original releases. However, they not only introduced additional content, but also changed a lot of elements, which causes devoted fans of the series to argue about which versions are the best.
The developers don't call the games in the collection remasters, but all three titles should look much better than the originals, if only because of the higher resolution.
To make the wait for the release of Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection more pleasant, starting on February 18 NiOh 2 owners will be able to download the Dragon Ninja skin for free, enabling them to play as Ryu Hayabusa, the main protagonist of Ninja Gaiden.
