Cygni is supposed to be a next-gen shoot'em up.

Today's third conference brings further game announcements. This includes a presentation of Cygni: All Guns Blazing, the new shoot'em up (also known as shmup) from KeelWorks. However, this is not a strictly retro production aimed at appealing to fans of the genre who long for another Galaga or R-Type. The title offers beautiful, next-generation visuals, as we can see by looking at the trailer below.

The game itself is exactly what you'd expect from a shoot'em up. We are leading a lone ship in the fight against a biomechanical alien race, defeating hordes of enemies and bosses. During the battles, we also manage the power supply to our vessel, redirecting power to shields or weapons, and collect various power-ups to help us win. All this with the accompaniment of an orchestra and spectacular graphic effects worthy of modern title. Cygni: All Guns Blazing will make its debut on PC in undefined future.
