New Naruto Comic Reveals Kakashi's Past, Which Masashi Kishimoto Didn't Predict
Kakashi Hatake is still keeping many secrets from fans. One of them has been revealed in the latest Naruto comic book, which is a crossover with another famous series.
Even though the Naruto manga has come to an end, the franchise continues to be developed in various ways, whether through games or the sequels Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. In November, a comic book was also released, featuring a crossover with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, allowing Naruto fans to revisit the early days of Team 7 led by Kakashi.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto follows a brand new adventure for young Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura as they team up with unlikely allies – the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – to face the Foot Clan.
The new comic doesn't connect to the Naruto canon in any way; it is an alternative reality that fans can treat as an interesting tidbit, showing them a completely different world and the stories of the characters. For instance, a new info about Kakashi could be quite a surprise. From the first part of the comics, we learn that the Copy Ninja knew Splinter's master in the past, whom he calls Hamato Yoshi.
Naming Splinter in this way may come as a surprise to some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, as they know Splinter's former owner by that name. However, it's worth noting that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto takes place in the new Turtles canon (IDW reboot). In it, Splinter and the Turtles are reincarnations of Yoshi and his sons from 300 years ago, just like Indra and Ashura from Naruto. Fans even speculate that the place where Yoshi and his sons lived 300 years ago could be Konoha, although these are just their theories. Perhaps more about their past will be revealed in the next installments of the series.
It's also unknown when and under what circumstances Kakashi met Hamato Yoshi. It's obvious that it couldn't have been 300 years ago, but from Jonin's statement, it seems that he knew him in a different form. More will surely be revealed in the next part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto, as the first one ended on that cliffhanger.
