New LotR: Gollum Video is to Convince Us of Satisfying Storyline

The developers of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum assure that they have thoroughly studied the works and notes of J.R.R. Tolkien. A new entry of dev diary provides more information about their work.

Developers from Daedalic Entertainment have released a cinematic dev diary entry (below) in which they explain how they approached J.R.R. Tolkien's legacy while working on Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The developers assure that they prepared very well for their task, not only by carefully reading the writer's works and watching the movies based on them, but also by delving into the notes and letters written by Tolkien.

In a video made available on YouTube they talk about how they supplemented the universe with locations and characters that were only mentioned in the original story. The material also gives a glimpse of gameplay footage, although we could see most of them in earlier trailers (especially the one shown on Thursday during the Nacon Connect event).

Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a stealth game in which we will take on the role of one of the more colorful characters present in J.R.R. Tolkien's works, namely the titular Gollum - a hobbit warped by the effects of the One Ring. The title is coming to PC, as well as and 8th- and 9th-gen consoles. Unfortunately, we still haven't learned the exact release date of the game - we only know that it will happen (hopefully) this year..
