New Info on Deltarune; Developer Makes an Important Decision
We know what the future holds for the RPG Deltarune. The developers revealed unknown facts to mark the anniversary of the debut of its first chapters.
Toby Fox is one of the most important figures in the indie game scene. After the success of Undertale the creator has once again delighted the fans by presenting the first chapter of Deltarune. This took place exactly 5 years ago. Today we know what we can expect from the developer in the near future.
Work on Deltarune continues
On this occasion, the official newsletter of Deltarune published a large entry discussing the future of the title and serving additional trivia. First of all, we received confirmation that the third chapter of the game has already been completed, and work on the fourth chapter is now the main focus.
According to Tobi's original idea, chapters 3, 4 and 5 were to debut simultaneously, but the developer had to change plans:
"My original plan was to release Chapters 3, 4 and 5 at the same time, but there is still a long way to go before Chapter 5 is completed... And I don't think anyone wants to wait that long to publish anything. Especially me.
So here's a new strategy: no more waiting for Chapter 5. Instead, we'll focus on introducing Deltarune to sale after the completion of Chapter 4. This seems to be more reasonable!
Chapter 4 already contains a sizable number of finished movie cutscenes and enemy models. I have also hired a new producer, whose main task will be to speed up the overall development of the game in future chapters. Therefore, I am very optimistic about the next stages of this project."
Toby also admitted that further detailed work progress reports on Deltarune may appear less frequently.
