Netflix's Dragon's Lair Likely to Feature Ryan Reynolds
Netflix will create an acting adaptation of iconic game dragons Lair's from the '80s. In the lead role of Knight Dirk, we will most probably see Ryan Reynolds.

Yesterday, Netflix announced that it will create a live-action adaptation of the 1983 game Dragon's Lair, telling a classic story of a knight saving a princess from the clutches of evil. As reported by Hollywood Reporter, we will probably see Ryan Reynolds (he played in Deadpool and Ted, among others) as the game's protagonist, Dirk .
Don Bluth (illustrator for Dragon's Lair), Roy Lee (worked on It and The Lego Movie), Trevor Engelson (Remember Me, Outpost 37), Gary Goldman (Anastasia, The Pebble and the Penguin), Jon Pomeroy (Thumbelina, An American Tail) and the aforementioned Ryan Reynolds are responsible for the production. The script will be written by brothers Daniel and Kevin Hageman (The Lego Movie). No more details have been given so far.
Dragon's Lair was originally released on arcades in 1983. The original part lived to see a port for PC only in 1989. The game was based solely on so-called quick time events, during which the player had to press the appropriate buttons appearing on the screen. The devs decided to combine hand-drawn animation with video clips, which was very much to the liking of the players. The title was re-released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS.
