Need for Speed: Most Wanted Remake (Leak)
According to the actress, who has had the opportunity to lend her voice to one of the characters appearing in the Need for Speed series in the past, a remake of the iconic Most Wanted is in development.
One of the most iconic installments of the racing game series from Electronics Arts, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, is expected to receive a remake.
The source of these rumors is actress Simone Bailly, who lent her voice to the main character's partner in the 2005 game. She probably prematurely posted a message on Twitter, according to which the remake of Most Wanted is in production and will debut in 2024..
Interestingly, the actress in a now-deleted post tagged studio Criterion Games, which admittedly was responsible for Need for Speed: Most Wanted - but the one from 2012, which was a kind of reboot of the original.
However, it should be remembered that Criterion also developed the latest installment of the NFS series, Unbound - which gives hope that Bailly's entry, however, was about the fan-awaited remake of the 2005 game, and not its "spiritual heir."
Let me remind you that the iconic Most Wanted was developed by EA Canada and the now-defunct EA Black Box. The game was released in November 2005 on PS2, Xbox, GameCube, Nintendo DS, PC, Game Boy Advance and Xbox 360, while a spin-off came to PSP, titled Need for Speed: Most Wanted 5-1-0.
Of course, the above information is just rumors, which must be approached with caution.. However, if they were confirmed, then Criterion Games would face quite a challenge - to match the legendary game from almost 18 years ago - especially considering that the studio not so long ago was abandoned by a group of veteran developers.
