My Friend Pedro is a festival of slow-motion, over-the-top shootouts, to be published by Devolver Digital

If Max Payne and Hotline Miami had a child, it would probably look like My Friend Pedro, a 2D shooter to be published by Devolver Digital.

Devolver Digital, video game company known best for the Hotline Miami franchise, is to publish My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas, a violent 2D shooter in development by indie studio DeadToast Entertainment. Its first gameplay trailer shows off some over-the-top acrobatics, jumps through the windows, dodging bullets and slow motions shootouts reminiscent of the Max Payne series – you can find it below. There is currently no release time window for My Friend Pedro specified other than a “Coming Soon” banner on its Steam page.

My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas is actually sort of a sequel to My Friend Pedro, a browser-based side-scrolling shooter, which is still available for free on Adult Swim website (thanks, PC Gamer!). The continuation will apparently sport a bit prettier graphics and expanded mechanics. Other than this, however, there is currently very little info on My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas’ content. So far, the game has been announced for PC only.
