We will get more games which present the story of this charming character.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. BioWare searches for new emplyees to work on new Dragon Age;
  2. Experts are sought for the positions of technical director, chief graphic programmer and chief technical designer of UX;
  3. The Technical Director is required with experience in the development of multiplayer games.

BioWare is looking for a new technical director – the relevant announcement was posted on LinkedIn 3 days ago and is related to the next edition of the Dragon Age series. The new employee will lead the team responsible for creating technologies that will be used in this game.

The franchise Technical Director is the most senior engineering lead on the game team and a key member of the Dragon Age franchise leadership. Ultimately responsible for ensuring that we delight our players, they build and mentor the engineering team, build and execute the game technology plan, and define and direct the development process. They collaborate with central technology groups and other game teams to coordinate technology strategy and achieve the best results for BioWare and EA.

Interestingly, one of the requirements set by the employer is to have experience in creating multiplayer games. Does it mean that the new Dragon Age will focus more strongly on the online aspects? It is hard to say - on the one hand, expertise of this type may be needed only to create a multiplayer module similar to the one known from Dragon Age: Inquisition. On the other hand, however, BioWare is currently working on Anthem and may want to use the experience gained also in subsequent titles, especially that providing long-term profit of the game-services (or similar modes - e.g. GTA / Red Dead Online) are a solution tempting publishers.

It is worth noting that BioWare Edmonton is also looking for a lead graphics programmer and a main technical designer for UX. All these offers may be linked to the new version of the Dragon Age series and suggest that it is still at an early stage of development. We would like to remind you that the mysterious first teaser of this production was presented at The Game Awards 2018.
