Mount and Blade 2 Devs Announce Closed Beta
TaleWorlds announced a closed beta of the multiplayer mode of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. No dates have been revealed so far, but more information is to follow soon.
For a long time there has been no relevant information about Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. However, it would be a mistake to say that the project was be abandoned. On the contrary, TaleWorlds is very active on Steam, regularly sharing new details and answering players' questions. Admittedly, there were no significant posts, but this has changed with the last announcement. The Turkish team announced a closed beta of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord when discussing multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, they didn't give even an approximate date of the start of the tests or specified the release date. The only thing they've have done was to assure that we will learn more from the next entries published on Steam.
Even this very general announcement aroused a lot of emotions, which seems understandable. The original Mount & Blade and its stand-alone expansion Warband have crowds of devoted fans. Players appreciated the unique combination of strategy and action RPG, despite the undeniable drawbacks (including a significant number of errors). Bannerlord will not introduce drastic changes to the premise, but the ambition of the creators is to significantly expand all elements of the production, which includes both the world (according to the devs' assurances, we will receive a map of 230 km2), as well as gameplay. Will the creators rise to the occasion and provide the fans with an ideal (though not necessarily the most beautiful) continuation - we will find out after the launch, for which - hopefully - we will not have to wait another six years.
