Most Iconic Moments From EWC Week 4

Relive all the excitement from a superb week of games.

Week 4 of the Esports World Cup was packed with plenty of action from the world’s best teams in Overwatch 2, ML:BB, and PUBG: Mobile. Here are just a few of the most hype and iconic moments from the week to look back on!

Sugarfree pops off on Tracer to get Toronto Ultra to EWC OW2 Grand Finals

No one expected Toronto Ultra to make a run at EWC OW2. Ultra has enjoyed some success regionally, but on the big stage they have never appeared a threat to Korean rosters like Team Falcons or Crazy Raccoon. So it was a big upset when they sent the OWL-veteran-filled roster of Zeta Division home in the semifinals.

Admittedly, Zeta Division made a mistake on the final map. Rather than banning the best hero for Ultra’s star DPS Sugarfree, Tracer, they banned Soldier 76. Subsequently, Sugarfree cooked Zeta Division using, you guessed it, Tracer. And along the way, he hit this massive 4k clip.

His MVP Tracer performance was the push Ultra needed to reach the Grand Finals, where they finished 2nd, the best result in the history of the Toronto Ultra organization.

Omega Empress crush Gaimin Gladiators to stay alive in ML:BB

Smart Omega Empress defeated the queens of ML:BB — Team Vitality — in the Grand Finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational Winners at EWC ib Sunday. But on their way to that match, they were very nearly eliminated in the Quarterfinals against Gaimin Gladiators.

After going down a map, with backs against the wall, Omega Empress needed to make a statement on Map 2. And they did! They came out guns blazing and finished with style.

One of the most memorable moments of the tournament came at the end of that Map 2, when Omega Empress maneuvered Gaimin Gladiators inside their base during the crucial game-deciding teamfight to set up Map 3 and eventually the W. Check out the video of this triumphant moment!

Alpha7 E-Sports claims the Chicken Dinner via roadkill In PUBG: Mobile

Anyone who plays PUBG Mobile knows how intense final circles can be. But nothing can prepare you for how chaotic a final circle of a $3,000,000+ million tournament can be.

One of the most exciting moments of PUBG Mobile World Cup EWC was a final circle with three teams alive: A7, Talon, and IW NRX. As the circle closed in, beautiful chaos ensued. This circle had it all — crazy grenade throws, laser-accurate sprays, and a roadkill double kill to end it with a bang.

Alpha7’s creative car play secured them their third Winner Winner Chicken Dinner of the Main Tournament on the way toward their eventual 1st place finish!

Toronto Ultra Secure the cross-map overtime in Overwatch 2

Crazy Racoons undoubtedly outclassed Toronto Ultra, and all the other Overwatch 2 teams in fact, handily winning the tournament with only two map losses to speak of.

But one of those map losses has a spectacular backstory. During the Grand Finals, Ultra was in a dire situation, with the Push bot on the wrong side of the map, no time remaining, and the scariest Overwatch team in the world trying to kill them.

But then something strange happened. In an inexplicable reversal of momentum, Ultra just wouldn’t go away. They just stayed alive, on the objective.

Crazy Racoon needed to win a single team fight to claim the map, but Toronto Ultra bested them in three back-to-back team fights, escorting the bot to the entire opposite side of the map and securing the win. They went on to lose the series, but what a moment for Ultra!
