Minecraft and Minecraft: Dungeons with Common Launcher
Minecraft Java Edition has received an update that adds a new launcher that also enables us to launch Minecraft: Dungeons. The goal is first and foremost user convenience.
Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft: Dungeons require a special launcher on PC. Until now, both games had separate applications of this type. With the latest update to the former this situation has changed.
The update implementing the changes is free of charge and will be downloaded automatically after launching Minecraft Java Edition. After its installation, the so-called Minecraft Unified Launcher will appear, from which we can launch Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Dungeons. It will also enable dynamic switching between Mojang and Microsoft accounts. At the same time, the launcher of the latter game will stop working.
This change will not affect the games themselves. Launcher reads data from the same folders as its two predecessors. This means that all data will be retained and we can continue playing without any problems.
Also note that despite having a common launcher, both games are still sold separately. Missing one of the titles or playing through Xbox Game Pass subscription does not affect the app.
