Millennia - How to Embark, Transport Troops through Sea and Water
If you can’t figure out how to transport troops by water in Millenia, this guide is for you. We explain a popular issue that makes this difficult.
Millennia is a turn-based 4X strategy game reminiscent of Sid Meier's Civilization VI, which has gathered mixed reviews after the release on Steam on 26th of March. The title suffers from issues ranging from small to game breaking, such as the launcher failing to load. Another common complaint has been the interface, which many players find confusing. One of the problems you might’ve encountered is that the option to embark on a ship does not appear. We explain how to deal with the issue below.
Millennia – How to Embark, Transport Troops through Sea and Water
It’s hard to imagine a historical simulator without the ability to travel through bodies of water. In order to unlock marine transport in Millennia, first, you need to research the Shipbuilding technology during the Bronze Age. What can you do, however, if you still can’t find the option to transport your army by ship after doing that?
In order to transport troops through water, you need to meet certain requirements. These are:
- Your Movement points being greater or equal to 10,
- Adjacent tile being Shallow Water.
Once you meet both conditions, you should get the option “Load to Transport” above your units’ portraits.
However, there is a catch. You will not find water marked as “Shallow” anywhere in the game. Instead, this text refers to “regular” water – that isn’t marked as “Deep”.
What makes it more confusing, you will not see the button to Load to Transport if you don’t meet all the requirements. However, once you do, you should be able to travel.
