Microsoft Shows off Xbox Series X’s Reduced Loading Times and Quick Resume
Fast loading times and quick resume features for Xbox Series X have been shown off by Microsoft in 2 new videos. „Fast and quick” is the best way to describe them.
Microsoft released on Monday two videos showcasing highly-anticipated features of Xbox Series X – reduced loading times and quick resume (yet to be trademarked). The release of the videos came shortly after Microsoft unveiled full hardware specs of the console.
The future is now, console gamers.
Before you watch the “Reduced Loading Times” video below, here’s a quick summary:
- Xbox Series X was able to launch State of Decay 2 in 10 seconds.
- It took Xbox One X more than 5 times longer (around 50 seconds).
- State of Decay 2 is a backward compatible game. It is unclear how long it will take for Xbox Series X exclusives to load.
Then there’s the “Quick Resume” video. In it:
- 4 games – Forza Motorsport 7, Ori and the Blind Forest, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and State of Decay 2 are all running in the background.
- It takes approximately 6 seconds to switch between games.
- All of the games are also backward compatible.
