Microsoft Launches Its Game Streaming Today
Today the xCloud streaming service is ending its trial period. Available as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, it will offer over 150 games known from Microsoft's consoles and PC.
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription that enables the user to access selected games from Microsoft and its partners, who decided to make their works available in the service. The basic version enables us to play on PC or Xbox. The more expensive Ultimate variant, on the other hand, enables us to get acquainted with all the titles offered by the company on both platforms and onine experience included in the price, thanks to the presence of Xbox Live Gold. From now on the set also includes the option of streaming games from the Game Pass library to mobile devices with Android.
xCloud uses Microsoft's cloud computing power to run titles from desktop platforms on any smartphone or tablet with high-speed Internet access and a compatible controller. Full integration of the service with our Xbox account will enable us to continue a game started on our PC or console on a mobile device on longer trips. It is also worth mentioning that xCloud users will be able to play with friends playing a given production on a PC, as long as it supports cross-play with Xbox One.
Initially, about 150 games will be available, including such hits as Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 5, Halo: Master Chief Collection, Nier: Automata, Ori and the Will of the Wisps or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (see source in the first paragraph for a full list). Over time, the list will expand and include new items, based on the opinions and preferences of players using the streaming service.
The service will be launched today. Those who meet the hardware requirements will be able to test xCloud soon. Please note that we will have to purchase an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The monthly cost is $14.99 for continuing subscribers, while new users can expect a special price for the first month - only $1.
