Metro Exodus Boasts Best Launch in THQ Nordic's History
THQ Nordic presented its results for the financial year 2018-2019. The publisher is pleased with the success of Metro Exodus, which has been recognized as the best launch in the history of the company.
THQ Nordic Group has published an extended report on its results for the financial year 2018-2019. The publisher is pleased with the sales of Metro Exodus, the post-apocalyptic shooter created by 4A Games, which debuted on February 15 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The production had the "best start in the history" of the company.
"Overall, the game has performed within management’s range of expectations and has recouped all investments made in development and marketing," the document reads.
THQ Nordic boasts very solid financial results. Deep Silver alone (one of the group's components) generated USD 82.2 million in the last quarter thanks to the sale of its games. It was mainly the success of Metro Exodus that made it possible. Coffee Stain Studios also had a successful few months. The game's other game, Satisfactory, a hybrid of a simulator, economy game, and space strategy that debuted early in the Epic Games Store platform earned the company more than $10.1 million. The results of this production proved to be better than the publisher's expectations.
By the way, we learned that THQ Nordic studios are currently developing as many as 80 games, 48 of which have not yet been announced. The company also cooperates with independent developers - one of such entities is the aforementioned Ukrainian 4A Games, with which the publisher signed an agreement on the "still undisclosed AAA project".
