Meet a grumpy clown in this new Thimbleweed Park trailer
"In a town like Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems."
Ron Gilbert has shared another trailer of Thimbleweed Park – a real old-school point-and-click adventure game. In this one a grumpy clown named Ransome presents the story of his miserable fate and the eponymous town, a place where “a dead body is the least of your problems”. Previously, we could hear a similar confession from Delores, one of the five playable characters in Thimbleweed Park. The three other are: a pair of investigators and a ghost of a dead man.
Overshadowing intrigue, tones of black humor, pixel-art graphics, and SCUMM-like HUD – you have to admit this looks so much like a good, old adventure game from LucasArts! And no wonder, since Ron Gilber is the guy behind such classics as Maniac Mansion and the first two Monkey Island games. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait for Thimbleweed Park much longer, as the title is coming out early 2017 on Windows/Linux PC, iOS, Android and Xbox One. It’s a shame, though, that the developers still haven’t given us the exact release date.
