Medieval MMORPG Gloria Victis hits Steam Early Access
Gloria Victis, a low-fantasy Medieval MMORPG by Polish studio Black Eye, is launching on Steam Early Access today. The game is expected to be developed with the help of community for about a year and a half.
Greenlit some time ago, low-fantasy Medieval MMORPG Gloria Victis by Polish developer Black Eye is starting its Steam Early Acces period today, which is expected to run until late 2017. The game’s main focus is on realism and openness. Hence, it is going to feature skill-based non-target combat, large-scale open PVP (tournaments, sieges and full-blown battles) with territory control, classless character progression, complex crafting system, player-driven economy, and a mature storyline. No shiny swords and fancy monsters here – instead, Gloria Victis will only have magic and creatures based on actual Medieval Europe and Middle-East beliefs.
The overall concept looks ambitious, but the current state of Gloria Victis is alpha, so some major features may still be missing or incomplete. These include many animations, playable female characters, naval combat, mounts as well as much of the game’s area. Interestingly, after the final release Gloria Victis will be offering a free, content-limited trial with a chance of unlocking the rest of the content through gameplay. On the other hand, Early Access supporters will have instant access to the entire game. Read more about Gloria Victis in the description on its Steam page.
