Mass Effect: Andromeda may be delayed by 5 months if necessary
EA are not going to rush Mass Effect: Andromeda's release; if they decide more work is needed, they won't hesitate to put it off even by 5 months.
Electronic Arts are currently planning to release Mass Effect: Andromeda in this fiscal year, which ends in March 2017. However, the company’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen said that the game may be delayed even by 5 months if necessary. It doesn’t mean that’s what’s going to happen – in fact, EA is very pleased with the game’s progress – but if the publisher decides that the next chapter in the Mass Effect space saga needs some extra polish, they will not hesitate to give it more time. Here’s what Jorgensen said (thanks, VG247):
We’re willing to make moves in launch dates if we feel that it’s necessary to deliver the right player experience. Our guidance assumes that Mass Effect continues to be in this [fiscal] year, but it gives us some flexibility that we might choose to move it either a week or three, or four, or five months if we have to based on what we want to make sure in terms of delivering the right experience to the players.
Either way, this is good news – at least we can expect EA won’t rush Mass Effect: Andromeda’s release. Still, we hope the delay won’t be necessary. On November 7 (the N7 Day) BioWare is going to premiere a new trailer and share some new information on Mass Effect: Andromeda, which was teased by this new video posted below:
