Marvel's Wolverine to be Directed by Spec Ops: The Line Writer
Walt Williams has announced that he has been promoted to narrative director for Marvel's Wolverine from Insomniac Games. In the past, he has written the story for the iconic Spec Ops: The Line, among others.
Last September, the PlayStation 5 exclusive game Marvel's Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games (creators of, among others. Marvel's Spider-Man), has been announced. Although we still do not know the release date, we just found out, who's sitting on the narrative director's chair for the project, having been promoted from head writer (thanks, PlayStation LifeStyle).
Welcome to Dubai
It's none other than Walt Williams himself. In the past, he also worked on Star Wars: Battlefront II, BioShock 2 and the unjustly forgotten The Darkness II.
His greatest achievement, however is undoubtedly Spec Ops: The Line, for which he and Richard Pearsey wrote the script inspired by the classic Heart of Darkness. Although on its premiere it received moderately positive reviews, today it is considered a timeless classic and has a devoted fan base - because of its plot and narrative.
Adult tone and Spider-Man
What else could we learn about Marvel's Wolverine since September? Tweet with last month's announcement from Mike Yosh - the game's lead animator - heralds that mo-cap sessions for the game may have already started.
Even earlier, the developers announced that this title will tell a story intended for adult audience - and the involvement of Walt Williams corresponds well with this declaration. Finally, let us remind you that Insomniac Games is also currently working on Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
