Marcin Iwinski Steps Down as Joint CEO of CD Projekt

It looks like the new games announced yesterday that CD Projekt RED will be working on in the coming years are just the beginning. The company is also experiencing staff changes.

Yesterday we received a ton of new information about CD Projekt RED's upcoming projects. We learned that the studio is working on three games from the Witcher universe, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and a completely new IP, codenamed Hadar. However, this is not the end of the high-profile news. Marcin Iwinski, co-founder and vice president of international affairs at CD Projekt, has announced that as of December 31, 2022, he will step down from his position. Interestingly, this does not mean the end of his adventure with the company.

According to the official announcement, which was made available on CD Projekt's website, Iwinski announced that he will remain a large shareholder of the company and will continue to actively support it. In addition, he intends to run for Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The decision on this matter will be made by the general meeting.

"I am beginning a brand new chapter at CD PROJEKT, as I will submit my candidacy for the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board," we read in an excerpt from Iwinski's announcement.

CD Projekt's co-founder also stressed that he is "excited about the future" and believes that the Polish company will rise to "a whole new level" thanks to its "ambitious strategy" and "talented team."

This is undoubtedly an important moment in the company's history. Recall that in 2010 Michal Kicinski left the company, remaining only a shareholder. What will this mean for us - the players? This we currently do not know, but we can only hope that Iwinski's announcements will be reflected in reality.
