Marathon Officially Announced by Bungie

The PlayStation Showcase presentation was full of interesting announcements and fresh footage, but perhaps nothing surprised so much as the announcement of a new game from the Marathon series by Bungie.

1. This is the return of the legendary sci-fi FPS brand, being the main series with which Bungie was associated before Halo. Many of the classic elements from the series about Master Chief's adventures, such as the AI falling into madness after a few years, are actually from Marathon.
2. For now, the developers are not ready to give a release date
3. The project has been named simply Marathon and the game is headed for PlayStation 5 and PC.
4. The game will offer a cross-play option, enabling PC and PS5 owners to play together.
5. Unfortunately, those hoping for a story campaign will be disappointed. New Marathon will be an extraction shooter modeled on the network shooter Escape from Tarkov.
6. However, the devs promise that Marathon will offer an interesting storyline background, typical of Bungie games. There is also to be a main storyline, which will be shaped by the players themselves.
