Manual Night Mode Finally Coming to Google Maps

Although Google Maps already has a night mode, it's activated automatically. However, the company is making changes in this area, and some users can already decide how the application will look on their devices.

Google started to provide selected users of its maps with manually activated night mode (previously it was automatically activated after dark, for example). Some owners of Android 11 smartphones and tablets can already find in Google Maps settings the possibility to choose between three types of appearance: light, dark and customized (via GSMArena).

It is worth mentioning that although this feature appeared with the 10.51.1 update, its download does not provide automatic access; this is granted by the company's servers. So if we meet all the conditions, but still can't see it on our smartphone or tablet, we still have to be patient.

Google will allow the users of its maps to manually select a dark theme (image source: Reddit).
