We've known about the development of a new installment on the Mafia series for a long time now, and just recently, rumors began circulating online that Take-Two Interactive was getting ready to announce the game. Apparently the company decided the time was right, as Mafia: The Old Country was officially announced during the gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live show. We saw the first trailer, available below.

Studio Hangar 13, after the moderately successful third game, decided to return to the series' roots. The Old Country will take us to Sicily at the beginning of the 20th century, where we will experience the beginnings of organized crime. The developers assure that the game will be full of action, realism, and also a good story.

In Mafia: The Old Country, we return to the series roots that fans loved in previous installments, with a rich and linear narrative, full of the atmosphere of classic gangster movies, presented in an incredible new setting, creating a tight and coherent whole with addictive gameplay.

We also found out that since the premiere of the first Mafia, the entire series has sold 34 million copies. Because of today's announcement, all games in the series are on sale on Steam.

Mafia: The Old Country is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is planned for 2025. We will see more materials in December.
