Mafia 4 Sounds Strange With Stealth and Multiplayer But May Contain Such Elements
Mafia 4 may place great emphasis on stealth elements. It is also possible that the game will receive a multiplayer mode. Hangar 13 is looking for specialists to restore the brand to its former glory.
Hangar 13's latest game is taking shape. Mafia 4 may offer extensive stealth elements and a multiplayer mode - such suggestions were found in job listings and were described by a Reddit user.
Mafia 4 with significant stealth elements
The first job offer concerns the position of chief AI designer. He will be tasked with developing immersive stealth and combat sequences, as well as programming the combat system for the main character's companions and enemy NPCs.
The announcement also mentions that the AI designer will be responsible for creating the AI system, archetypes and behaviors - from prototype to final version in the new installment of Mafia. It also mentions experience working with Unreal Engine 4 and 5, which is in line with last year's rumors.
- The previous installemnts, 1, 2 and Remake, did not contain extensive stealth systems (in 2, such stages were largely scripted, and in the remake they were treated only as a small addition).
- The exception to the rule was Mafia 3, whose developers paid more attention to this element - the game enables us to distract enemies, highlight their silhouettes or hide their bodies.
- Unfortunately, the problem was poor AI of enemies - as a result, the mechanics did not challenge the player, forcing them to repeat routine actions.
Mafia 4 with online features
The second job offer is for a senior gameplay systems designer. One of the requirements is experience in designing AAA titles, including multiplayer and/or games with remote play functionality. In the body of the ad, no mention is made of Mafia, although it is linked to the same division as the first job offer.
There is no shortage of speculation online that perhaps Mafia 4 will offer a multiplayer mode (like GTA Online) or the ability to join someone else's single-player game (like Watch Dogs). It's a shame that the listing doesn't reveal more details.
Mafia 4 has been officially confirmed in August 2022. Unfortunately, the release date is still unknown. The game's plot is to take place in Sicily in the 1920s.
