Mads Mikkelsen May Replace Depp in Fantastic Beasts 3
Johnny Depp will no longer play Grindelwald. Who will take his place? Turns out Warner Bros has found the right candidate. Mads Mikkelsen may become the new antagonist of Fantastic Beasts.
Johnny Depp will not appear in the next part of Fantastic Beasts. But we didn't wait long to meet the actor's potential replacement.
Just a few days ago Screen Rant suggested that Colin Farrell should return to the universe. After all, he already has experience in being Grindelwald (claiming to be auror Percival Graves). However, after a recent article on Deadline, fans' eyes have turned to Mads Mikkelsen, who is said to have been interviewed by Warner Bros. The actor seems to be a perfect candidate for the role of the sorcerer. His artistic output is highly acclaimed, and what's more, he already has an cinematic episode with magic under his belt. The actor played the role of Kaecilius, the evil sorcerer in Doctor Strange.
Mikkelsen is also known for his role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the Hannibal series and his performance in the Star Wars universe. If the actor takes on the role, we can rest assured about the future of the third part of Fantastic Beasts.
The film will air in the summer of 2022.
