Halls of Torment presents an exciting blend of bullet hell and roguelike gameplay, drawing clear inspiration from Vampire Survivors and similar titles. Prepare yourself to confront swarms of enemies, level up your character, and ultimately face formidable bosses. It's a challenging journey where you are consistently outnumbered, and a single mistake can lead to your demise, as death comes easily. However, each playthrough grants you newfound strength as you unlock additional perks and characters. The game is still in early access, so, you may encounter some bugs. One of them is quite recent – some players report that they have lost their progress and characters. We will talk about it here.
Update
As we have written, developers are aware of the problem, and they created a solution. It is described on the Steam forum. You have to:
- Disable cloud saves from the properties.
- Switch to the beta branch.
- Start the beta branch game.
- Check your quests on the quest board.
- Restart Halls of Torment.
- Make sure all unlocks (characters etc.) are there.
- Close the game.
- Enable cloud saves again.
To play beta branch you have to right click the game in your Library and pick Properties. Now enter Betas and select beta in Beta Participation section.
Lost progress and characters in Halls of Torment
Some players have reported that their progress and even characters vanished. It is a recent bug, which is known to developers. It is connected with the last patch. Creators acknowledged it immediately after the update and tried to fix it. Players were advised to reset game to solve the issue.
