Lost Ark Launch on Steam Quite Problematic [UPDATED]
Lost Ark is now available on Steam, but not all players can enjoy the game. Some of them can't download it at all, and those who did so before the hour of official launch are having trouble extracting the files.
Update:
It seems that Valve reacted quite quickly. Lost Ark's Twitter account posted a message that many more people were able to start both downloading and unpacking the game. However, we don't know how many players have managed to access the servers so far - SteamDB offers no relevant information at this time.
Original message:
Today marks the launch of European, North and South American servers of Lost Ark. However it was not a perfect start. Some players - despite having bought early access to this F2P game - can not download it. All they see is a message from Steam reporting "download connection time out" and - as we can read on Lost Ark's Twitter profile - the problem lies on the side of Valve's platform and affects both normal players and content creators.
We can only hope that it will be resolved quickly. Interestingly, even people who downloaded the game in advance - for example, yesterday - have problems with launching it. They report that they are unable to start unpacking the files - over 70 GB of data. Others succeeded, but the process is very slow. The lucky ones, however, are already playing - their actions are watched by over a million viewers on Twitch. Could it be that they were encouraged to do so by special prizes??
