Lost Ark Devs Present Character Customization
The developers responsible for Lost Ark's entry into the Western market have prepared some footage for players that shows how character editing will look in the game.
There are only a few weeks left to the release of Lost Ark in Europe and North America. Developers decided that it's high time to share another preview material. This time the character creation process was discussed. Enthusiasts of long rummaging in sliders to create the perfect "character design" should be satisfied. According to the developers at Smilegate RPG, we can spend hours in the character creator.
We'll start the process by choosing one of fifteen character classes, which are derived from the five base classes: warrior, mage, gunner, martial artist and assassin. Then we move on to the actual customization (note: on the creation screen the character is clad in an outfit that will be unlocked only after some time; don't be surprised if your initial outfit is different).
Of course, we will be able to skip all that fun and choose one of the many pre-made designs prepared by the developers. However, those who like to spend a lot of time in the character creator will find a lot of good things here - they will be able to modify almost every element of the face: eyes, eyebrows, cheeks, jaw, nose, mouth, etc. All mentioned aspects will have their respective sliders, enabling us to specify spacing, angle, length, etc.
The wizard will also offer a large selection of hairstyles (some will only be available in a particular class). Hair color will be selected from a special color wheel, where we will manipulate not only hue, but also saturation; there will also be an option to have a two-tone hairstyle. What's interesting, the carefully styled look will be displayed even when covered with a helmet - just select in the inventory options that the headgear should be invisible.
An interesting fact about eye customization is that we can set the iris color separately for each of them (e.g. right eye blue, left red). We can also embellish the character's face with make-up or tattoos. You will see more details in the material above.
Recall that Lost Ark will debut on Steam on February 11.
