Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Devs Announce Major Change Due to Player Voting
Dragami Games has announced that it has significantly changed the concept behind the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP project. The change is said to be prompted by fan votes.
The fact that a refreshed version of the crazy Lollipop Chainsaw is being prepared, was revealed in July 2022. Nevertheless, although the studio responsible for this project, Dragami Games, initially announced it as a remake, eventually it decided to prepare a remaster. As Yoshimi Yasuda, i.e. the company's president, informed via Twitter / X, such a change was demanded by the fans themselves. Thus, they can be sure that not too many unwanted changes will be made to the game (if at all).
Unfortunately, this is where the new news related to Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP (the game changed its title August) end. We still do not know the target platforms of the item in question, and we also do not know when exactly it will debut; it has only been revealed that it will hit store shelves in the summer of 2024.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP - highlights
- Lollipop Chainsaw takes players to the city of San Romero. The main character of the game is cheerleader Juliet Starling, whose school is attacked by hordes of zombies. To make matters worse, her boyfriend, Nick, is bitten. Fortunately, Juliet is not an ordinary girl; for the protagonist comes from a family of zombie hunters. Therefore, she takes a chainsaw and goes out to confront the living dead.
- In the course of playing Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP we will traverse a variety of locations, eliminating hordes of zombies, rescuing friends and developing Juliet's skills. The combat will be dynamic, and our main tool of murder will be a chainsaw. Nick, whose head the heroine will have pinned like a key ring, will assist us on the battlefield, offering special attacks. As players progress, they will be able to unlock new outfits and gadgets and develop the heroine's skills.
- Compared to the original, the game will stand out due to refreshed graphics and soundtrack, in which, in addition to a number of old songs, new ones will appear (the devs had to decide on such a step due to problems with acquiring a license for all songs from the original).
