A team of fans has been developing the Project Arroyo mod for some time, with the goal of recreating the story campaign of Fallout 2 in Fallout 4. The creators have released new video material from this modification.

The video is particularly interesting because it offers comparisons of two-dimensional locations from FO2 with their three-dimensional versions that we will visit in the mod. The first-person view of these locations looks quite different from the isometric original, but it appears that the creators have successfully captured the atmosphere of Fallout 2 and the unique nature of its world.

The project is very ambitious and requires a lot of work. That's why the creators cooperate with the Vault 13 mod team, which is trying to recreate the campaign from the first installment of the series in FO4. Both of these fan remakes will use many of the same elements (similar to the originals from the 90s) and there's no need for each team to independently develop them from the beginning. This is expected to significantly ease the lives of these teams and speed up the work on their modifications.

Unfortunately, it's currently unknown when we can expect the premiere of the Project Arroyo mod. The creators aren't prepared to give any specific date yet, so we will probably have to wait a few more years. Meanwhile, brand fans should have no reason to complain about boredom, as there are several other ambitious modifications in production. Fallout: London, one of the largest, is set to premiere on April 23 this year. It's worth noting that this project will include a number of professional voice actors, among whom will be Neil Newbon, most famous for portraying Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3.
