Lightyear Frontier is a new faming game, in which you become a mech pilot who wants to build a house on an alien and uninhabited planet. Your task is simple – discover more and more, and build a better and better base. We will tell you how to do it.

Lightyear Frontier Guide – Tips for Beginners

1. Don’t be afraid of death – you can’t die permanently. If you die outside of mech, the game will teleport you to it. If the mech will meet its end, you will be taken to the nearby safe spot.
2. Leave the mech – of course, you will discover the game mainly through the mech, however, you will not find all secrets without leaving it. Many relics are impossible to reach or even notice for your giant, metal friend. What is more, the mech can’t enter caves, and you can find precious resources there.
3. Clean contamination – each region is somehow contaminated. The source of pollution differs, sometimes it will be a strange substance on the ground, and in other cases a plant with unhealthy vibe around it. Only after cleaning it, you will be able fix the region and unlock the map.
4. Unlock new blueprints – you can do that by gathering new materials and crafting new items. Some of them are also available in the shop. You will unlock it after building a special building (Merchant Landing), but you need to discover Red Crystal first.
5. Build Base near Water – growing your own crops is important, and you need water to do that. While you can gather all other resources in chests, water can be stored only in your mech and its capacity is limited. It means that close source of water is more important than a mine proximity.
6. Feed animals – you may notice that animals can be fed. In exchange you will get from them random materials. If you give food to nests, it will boost resource renewal in the region.
7. Use wheel menu – it will make swapping tools faster. What is more, it is the only way to change seeds in your planting tools. Press and hold Q on a keyboard or Left Bumper on your controller for the menu to appear.
