Leaks Suggest Existence of GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
Leaked data on the next design based on the Ampere architecture by Nvidia surfaced on the web. This time the company from Santa Clara is going to fight for players with medium budget.
According to VideoCardz, referring to its trusted sources, the successor of RTX 2060 will be included in Nvidia's portfolio in the coming weeks. The RTX 3060 Ti is based on the Ampere GA104-200 unit, which translates into 4864 CUDA cores (for comparison, the RTX 3070 has 5888, and the top of the previous generation, i.e. the RTX 2080 Ti has "only" 4352). In addition, the GPU is to receive 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 256-bit memory bus with a bandwidth of 448GB/s (RTX 3070 has the same specs).
According to the leak, a single 8-pin plug will be required to power the chipset, and the TDP ratio is set at about 180 W. The gaming performance and price remain a mystery for the time being. However, an approximate release date is known, as the RTX 3060 Ti is expected to hit the shelves in the second half of October. Time will tell, whether it will convince current GTX 1060 owners to switch.
