Leaks Confirm Existence of GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

According to the new leaks, the next chipset in the Nvidia Ampere family will be the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. The GPU may debut in late October.

The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti may debut in October.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is to have 4864 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory;
  2. The GPU will most likely debut at the end of October.

VideoCardz reports that the next announced card from Nvidia's Ampere family will be the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. The editors refer to two anonymous sources.

The GPU is to be based on the GA104-200 chipset, with 4864 CUDA cores (1024 less than the GeForce RTX 3070) and 8GB of GDDR6 memory (at 14 Gbps clock, which at 256-bit should give a bandwidth of 448 GB/s). The device is expected to require about 180 watts of power (officially it will be a card with a TDP of 200 watts), which is a bit more than the RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 Super (these consume 175 watts).

Interestingly, it seems that the weaker GeForce RTX 3060 - without the "Ti" suffix - will be a significantly different chip, based on the next version of the Ampere chipset (GA106). It is said to be released later, as the company expects strong competition from AMD in this segment and prefer to bet on a stronger chipset.

Sources from VideoCardz editors indicate that the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti may debut at the end of October, and more details about the GeForce RTX 3070 will be released at the same time.
