SlashFilm reports that in season 2 of The Mandalorian we will see Ahsaka Tano. The heroine, adored by fans, is to be played by actress Rosario Dawson, known from Marvel's production. If the message turns out to be true, it will be the character's debut in a live-action show.
- SlashFilm reports that The Mandalorian season 2 will feature actress Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.
- This would be her debut in live-action shows, although her voice could be heard in The Rise of Skywalker.
- Ahsoka Tano is one of the most popular characters who made their screen debut in Clone Wars.
The first season of The Mandalorian was exactly what the fans of the universe had long hoped for. The show is scheduled to be continued in October, this year (spin-offs are also planned). No wonder that the media are beginning to receive first news about new characters and cast members. And those can be really interesting.
SlashFilm, citing two sources close to LucasFilm, reports that in season 2 of The Mandalorian we will see the adored Ahsoka Tano. She will be played by actress Rosario Dawson, known mainly from Marvel's TV shows, such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones or Luke Cage, where she played Claire Temple. If this information is confirmed, it will mean the debut of Anakin Skywalker's padawan in a live-action show.
So far, we've only seen Ahsoka in animated productions, such as Clone Wars (both film and series) and Star Wars Rebels. And "see" is the right word here, because Togruta's voice could be heard in one of the scenes of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. This fact was already an indication for the fans that their beloved character somehow confirmed her presence on the big screen, so in the future, we could expect her get a longer performance.
This could have been expected...
But if we trace the facts, it soon turns out that all the elements of the puzzle (seemingly unexpected) fit together perfectly. One of the directors and producers of The Mandalorian is Dave Filoni, a man considered to be the father of Clone Wars, where we first saw Ahsoka. As in the case of "Rebels", the filmmaker decided to remind us again of his iconic character.
A seasoned Star Wars fan probably also saw that many threads known from Clone Wars appeared already in the first season of the live-action series (e.g. the last scene of the show, which tells everything...). That's why it was only a matter of time before the famous characters made their appearance. To be honest - I wouldn't be be surprised if other famous characters appear along Ahsoka... including the ubiquitous and immortal Darth Maul. But that's just my guess.
Rosario Dawson's choice for Ahsoka Tano also seems quite predictable if we look at her performance in Marvel's productions. The same ones that Jon Favreau - executive producer of The Mandalorian is closely related to. The actress has proven herself in the role of Claire Temple, and in several different TV shows, so why wouldn't she manage this time? All the more so because Disney is planning spin-offs, in which she could play the same character.
Who is Ahsoka Tano? Attention, spoilers.
Speaking of which, we've been talking quitea lot of this Tano girl, but maybe not all of you are as much into Star Wars as to know this heroine, who, by the way, got her own book. In a nutshell, she is the only padawan of Anakin Skywalker, who decided to leave the Order after being thrown under the bus by the Jedi Council. However, across the years she retained her connection to the Force and acted under the pseudonym Fulcrum as one of the driving forces of the Rebellion. We first meet her in Clone Wars, and later, for the last time so far (except for her voice in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), in the epilogue of Rebels.
Throughout the classic trilogy, we don't know what happened to the heroine. The Mandalorian is set after The Return of the Jedi, so we can only guess what role she will play. The first clue is the black sword from the finale of the first season, which was once owned by Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian warrior, and a friend of Ahsoka's. On top of that, of course, there is the question of the Child's (or if you prefer: Baby Yoda's) training.
I strongly believe that this information will be confirmed (SlashFilm is still waiting for a message from LucasFilm) and we will indeed see the character on screen. And then, who knows, maybe some spin-off about her fate during the reign of the Empire? It's worth mentioning that although we haven't received any solid reports about a possible delay due to the coronavirus, the list of delayed series is still growing. I hope this doesn't happen in season 2 of Mando's adventures.
