Layers of Fear 2 Release Date Revealed
We've just learned the released date of Layers of Fear 2, the follow up to the gloomy, slightly deranged FPP game from 2016. Whether the sequel can live up to the success of the original will become apparent soon.
According to an official statement by the CEO of Bloober Team, Mr. Piotr Babieno, published on April 25th on stockwatch.pl, the company’s atmospheric first-person psychological thriller/horror, Layers of Fear 2, will be released in little over a month – on May 28th.
The game will be a follow-up to the original – largely successful, intense and artsy – Layers of Fear, released in 2016 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and two years later for the Switch. In that game, we played as a painter, striving to finish a particular painting while also struggling with his growing insanity. The game was diversified with moments of intense action, where the environment changed in unpredictable, often baffling ways.
Layers of Fear 2 will attempt to further the gloomy atmosphere with a new protagonist and a new setting. We’ll play as an actor, performing the lead role in a movie shot aboard an ocean liner and directed by an “enigmatic director.” Sounds like something up the Kubrick alley.
The game has been in development for at least a year and a half, with the developers informing back in spring 2018 about joining forces with publisher Gun Media. We also know the game will feature the actor Tony Todd (Candyman, The Crow), and, like the original, will be released for the PC, XOne and PS4. If you’re interested in the game and play PC, you might want to get to know the system requirements.
