Kojima - Death Stranding's Plot is a Reaction to Brexit and Trump

In an interview for BBC Radio 1 Hideo Kojima explained that Death Stranding's plot was inspired by contemporary human egoism and the desire to isolate oneself from the rest of the world, as evidenced by the actions of Donald Trump and Brexit.

Death Stranding will launch on Friday.

We are only a few days away from the launch of Death Stranding, so recently we were flooded with information about this project. The creator of the game, Hideo Kojima, gave an interesting interview for BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat, in which he revealed that the script of the production was inspired by Donald Trump and Brexit.

Kojima explained that the Internet connects mankind, but it makes people attack each other more than ever before. That's why Death Stranding is designed to encourage players to think about human relationships. The creator believes that contemporary society places too much emphasis on individualism. In his opinion, events such as Donald Trups idea of constructing a wall on the border with Mexico and Brexit show that too many people now think only of themselves and want to be separated from the rest of the world.

In Death Stranding, the task of the player is to transport items between isolated settlements and thus restore the broken bonds of civilization. Kojima emphasizes that the scenario of the game is not an attack against any community or country. Instead, the foundation of the plot is the universal theme of connecting people.

We'll spend most of our time wandering through areas devoid of people. The artist was inspired by his own sense of isolation. As he explains, many people today do not feel part of the community and it is comforting to know that there are others with the same feelings. Kojima wanted to recreate his own loneliness in an interactive form and thus give comfort to the players.

Let us remind that the game will be released on November 8, this year. On this day the game will debut on PlayStation 4. The PC edition is also planned, but we will have to wait for it until next spring.

A lot of reviews of the game have already appeared on the web. Most of them are positive, but there are also many weaker scores. One thing is certain - Death Stranding leaves no one indifferent. Our editor belongs to a group who clearly liked the game, which is why he gave it a9.0/10.
