The development team at NeocoreGames, the studio responsible for King Arthur: Knight's Tale, managed to heavily reduce the game's weight.
Update
NeocoreGames released the extensive patch for King Arthur: Knight's Tale. The main goal of the developers was to reduce the volume of the game files. We must admit that the developer delivered, because eventually it was reduced to 39 GB.
Moreover, the update enriched the endgame and introduced a new seasonal content - The Chained God. Specialists from NeocoreGames have also improved the overall game balance.. Of course, these are just some of the improvements made to King Arthur: Knight's Tale. More information can be found here.
Although there are individual voices of dissatisfaction with the changes introduced by the update, overall players warmly welcomed the improvement.
Original message
King Arthur went on a diet. NeocoreGames announced via Twitter that they finally managed to deal with the problem of the game's excessive weight, i.e. storage requirements.
According to the developer compressing most texture files for the tactical RPG King Arthur: Knight's Tale has made the title take up almost 60% (about 70 GB) less space on disk, which is an impressive result.
It is also worth admiring that the changes do not affect the visual side of NeocoreGames' work in any way.
The studio also added in its informational note that the update, which is coming on June 23, will be larger than a regular patch, but once the download and installation is complete, the total file size of King Arthur: Knight's Tale will be significantly reduced.
Let us remind you at the very end that King Arthur: Knight's Tale debuted on April 26, this year. The game, previously available on Steam's Early Access, has received very favorable reception from the users. At the moment it has 82% positive reviews.
So far the title is available only on PC, but there are also plans for PlayStation 5 and Xbox X versions.
