Kholat launching on Xbox One next month; the game sold half a million copies so far
Next month Xbox One users will join PC and PlayStation 4 players in the blood-chilling adventure in Kholat, successful indie horror game, which has sold half a million copies up to this day.
Exactly two years after its original release on PC and over a year later than it hit PlayStation 4, Kholat is going to launch on Xbox One on June 9, 2017, Polish company IMGN.PRO informed media in an official press note. The game will be sold on Microsoft’s console for $19.99, with pre-orders kicking off a week before the release, that is on June 2. Here’s an atmospheric teaser trailer for this version:
Taking this opportunity, IMGN.PRO announced that Kholat has sold half a million copies worldwide so far, which is pretty good for an indie game. In case you haven’t heard of it, Kholat is a horror adventure game with strong similarities to Dear Esther. This means that it features much more exploration and heavy atmosphere than sheer action. Narrated by Sean Bean, the game tells an intriguing story inspired by actual events, telling about a group of alpinists who went missing in the icy-cold Ural Mountains and were later found dead under mysterious circumstances. Lukasz Kubiak, co-author of the narrative said:
We never thought that Kholat would become so popular. Thanks to the amazing feedback we have received from players around the world, today we are proud to announce the game’s upcoming launch on Xbox One. At the same time, we’re aware that our fans have many questions and that there are many theories and assumptions concerning the events we have presented in our story. All I can say right now is that looking at how big our community has become, answers to those questions may emerge in the future.
