Jujutsu Kaisen has come to an end. A few weeks ago, the last chapter of the manga was released, and in December, the premiere of the last two volumes of Gege Akutami's work is set to take place in Japan. Of course, new seasons of anime will continue to be released, as there is still plenty of material to adapt. However, for the manga, it has already concluded.

Nevertheless, it managed to say goodbye in style as it continues its very good streak. Jujutsu Kaisen is once again among the best-selling mangas and looks set to return to the top spot this year.

While the official Oricon top chart has not been released yet, X user RoukHein has provided an estimate of what this year’s top chart should look like based on Oricon data from November 20, 2023, to November 17, 2024. You can find the sales estimates below.

  • 1. Jujutsu Kaisen – 7,610,995
  • 2. One Piece - 5,280,000
  • 3. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End – 4,955,000
  • 4. The Apothecary Diaries – 4,695,000
  • 5. Blue Lock – 3,881,269
  • 6. Kaiju No. 8 – 3,415,000
  • 7. Kingdom – 3,235,000
  • 8. Haikyu!! – 3,075,000
  • 9. My Hero Academia - 2,910,000
  • 10. Spy x Family – 2,710,000

JJK has once again emerged as one of the top manga, even surpassing the second place by a significant margin, according to RoukHein's calculations. Since 2021, Gege Akutami's manga has consistently topped the Oricon sales charts, only briefly giving way to Blue Lock in 2023. However, it's expected to reclaim the top spot in 2024, surpassing the competition once again.

Jujutsu Kaisen thus sealed its status as a huge hit. Since its release in 2018, the series rapidly gained popularity not only in Japan but also in other countries, becoming a widely discussed global phenomenon. And now, despite the controversial finale, it shows that it can leave in great style.
